The Axanthic royal python
was the second morph to be reproduced in captivity,
and to date there are three proven lines of axanthics,
the Snake Keeper line, Barker or VPI line and the Joliff
line. Here at db Reptiles we are working with the VPI
line as we feel it is the superior of the three lines.
I believe the axanthic mutation
is one of the most underrated mutations available. Axanthisim
is a colour mutation, which can be characterised as
the lack of yellow and orange pigmentation in the skin,
leaving a truly astounding black, silver, and white
snake.
Axanthics are also
the key to a number of popular projects including the
‘Snow’, and the true ghost, not to mention
the countless combinations which have not been thought
of yet. Imagine the axanthic piebald royal python, a
black, and silver snake with large patches of pure white!
