Reptile habitat

A properly designed reptile habitat is absolutely essential for anyone that is interested in keeping a reptile as a pet. They are available in a wide array of sizes and designs, ensuring that there is something for virtually any reptile. Most reputable pet stores will have at least a few from which to choose.

A reptile habitat has two primary tasks; number one is to keep the animal protected from any outside dangers. Secondly, it should maintain an environment that is as close to it’s natural home as possible. This often means including heating rocks and lights, as well as pools of water and hiding places.

A reptile habitat can also vary in size, depending on the size and requirements of the pet. Small anoles rarely need anything larger than a 10-gallon aquarium. However, larger snakes and lizards can require much larger enclosures in order to allow them enough space to move about.
